FQF container wagon

With rising container transshipment in the 1960s, the Victorian Railways began to produce wagons to cope with the extra traffic. This wagon is representative of the FQX wagon, a bogie-exchangeable wagon. In the 1970s, many wagons were re-coded FQF to prevent bogie exchange and the leakage of these wagons to the standard gauge networks.

This wagon is finished in the later 1970s style, with FQF coding, wagon red and loaded with the particularly nice SDS Models MC cattle containers. The wagon itself is built from a Steam Era Models kit.
