Re: pjv101 website

Am having the same issue here.

As a work around, the actual pages still work, just not the home page. pjv101.net/cd/pages/codelist.htm

Re: Crooked Wheels

A quick note from one of the instructions, not sure which one it was (J or X from memory), but the rod that is at 3 oclock, and or 9 oclock is the most likely candidate to be binding. The wheels being slightly wobbly shouldn't be an issue unless you're doing the crank pins up super tight (not recomm...

Re: Semaphore signals circa 1918

Hi John I'm reasonably sure the Down Arrival (trains coming from Melbourne) signal at Lilydale was of similar construction, although I think it may have been built as a timber signal originally (in 1913). I think I have a low res photo of it here somewhere, will take a look if you would like it. Reg...

Hi Jacob
Nice work, very nice work in fact! :)

It's too bad you've already painted the loco though. There was actually a discussion on this forum, this thread I think: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=597

Hope to see more of your work!

Re: Red VR S Class

Thanks RB! Looks like some experimenting may be in order :) Crimson lake probably wouldn't look too bad, and IMO the deep indian red (based off an online colour match and overlayed onto your models) isn't too bad, but it's definitely dark. But I think the bright red does sit very well. I think I mig...

Re: Red VR S Class

Thank you for sharing RB! :) They definitely look very impressive in the red. I was actually doing some searching after I sent the PM to you (although more for info on paints for my freight stock!), and stumbled across your post about wagon red paints ( http://www.vr-enthusiast.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

Re: Last stop for Model Etch

Hi Tony Thank you for letting us know, and thank you for your services to the model railway industry in Aus. I will definitely be ordering a few bits and pieces ASAP, especially another Q flat wagon, maybe two. It has to be one of the most enjoyable brass kits that I've built to date... :) Regards Zec

Re: Dcc for the First Time!?

I've heard a few of the same comments with TCS. But then I hold much the same opinion of Digitrax. I have several that just never worked; never let the smoke out but won't program and won't run! And the others I have tended to run poorly without lots and lots of tweaking in my other models, and even...

Re: Dcc for the First Time!?

Hi Mark I'd say, for their price, they are the way to go. My one note would be that I did find that my kit built S class had a substantial slow speed improvement when i put an ESU LokSound decoder into it. It seemed to be the BEMF system that contributed to the improvement :) The LokPilot decoders a...
