Re: Powerline AS & BS Cars

Well that's better than much of their models such as the indian made ones - I was holding off to see results.

Powerline AS & BS Cars

The new version of the Powerline S cars is arriving soon and some have been air freighted to customers. Has anyone seen them? If so what's the verdict?

I am a bit wary of spending money up-front sight unseen.

Re: Platform facing

Brendan, I am not sure what ear you are modelling but looking at the Train Hobby books which are mostly 1970s you can see that around that time the timber facings were being replaced by precast concrete ones (presumably this sorted maintenance problems out). I think that the wooden platform facings ...

Re: BGM A2

I think the first kit was the E and then the A2 followed - I think they were designed in Boronia and made by DHJ Grandspot in the UK. I may be wrong but I always thought that they were designed by Phillip Dunn. The later kits K and N were either issued by the early BGM or done by the later BGM after...

Model Railway shows in Melbourne 2017

What would be the best shows to attend for someone from interstate. I used to go to Hobsons Bay when it was in Easter but it seems that the Hobsons Bay show is no more.

What would be a good show to attend - I am looking for VR layouts plus suppliers of VR items.

Cheers

We - ie the Victorian railways modelers and historians should make sure all three sites are captured by the National Libraries Pandora project for archiving websites in order protect all that valuable histor...

Re: pjv101 website

While we are on the subject should we VR modellers who use his site (and that of Mark Bau) offer to assist in paying the cost for keeping it going??

Re: Benalla Station Building

It might be worth checking with Heritage Victoria as I think it is heritage listed and there may be a document (e.g. a Conservation Management Plan) which lists the various plans available.

Re: Weighting for Steam Era Z cls Vans

Years ago I asked David Foulkes about wagon weights and he was quite scathing about the NRMA recommended practice as producing far too heavy results for 4 wheel wagons. The NRMA RP for a GY is 74g for example and it is difficult to pack that all in if you don't cover it with a tarp. David recommende...
